What is an Apprenticeship?

An Apprenticeship is where an employee is paid to learn a trade and is indentured to an employer for four years.

Becoming a CCGT Apprentice means the career seeker will work for one of our Host Employers, who will guide and support them with on-the-job training to develop their career skills and knowledge.

Apprentices attend TAFE one day per week (or in some cases block weeks) for three years and then work on the job five days per week in their fourth year.

Once the Apprentice has completed all of their TAFE studies and on-the-job training, they are eligible to apply for a trade licence.

CCGT offers Apprenticeships in the following careers:

  • Auto Electrician
  • Carpenter
  • Cabinet Maker
