CCGT FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENT

With youth unemployment recently peaking at 42.2%, CCGT, the Coast’s largest provider of apprentices and trainees is elated with the recent announcement by the Minister for Infrastructure Anthony Albanese and Craig Thomson, Federal Member for Dobell, to fund $2.7 million toward CCGT’s unique Youth Skills and Business Development Centre.

This unique project is also partnered through Wyong Shire Council’s generous contribution of $1.8 million of land centrally located in the business heart of the Wyong Township.

Alison Cook, CCGT Manager said, “This is the single most significant step in moving forward on youth unemployment in recent times. It will not only provide a significant boost for small start-up businesses but a real win for apprentices and trainees. It is anticipated the Skills Centre will provide on-going employment opportunities for up to 120 new positions. This will be complimented through the Centre accommodating some 30 new start-up businesses.”

The CCGT Skills and Business Centre is a Coast first. This unique pilot program aims to link small business and our Coast’s youth at an early stage. This Centre will accommodate a state-of-the-art hospitality training cafe, conference and training facilities, serviced offices, retail and trade training for a wide range of career opportunities. The Centre is the Coast’s most progressive employment initiative, a pilot program that will be keenly reviewed with a view to establishing further Skills Centres.
